blogs & WebCT
If you're delivering library instruction content through WebCT, here's one practitioner's story about integrating a blog with the course management tool (note: it's a good idea to follow the backlinks to where the explanation first started) [via blogdriverswaltz].
blogs & cms
I've been investigating content management systems for our library's online research guides (a great session by a bunch of York University librarians at the OLA Conference got me on to this) and just came across Greg Sennema's article (added to the bibliography) on the CMS he created for his institution. For those of you who like the functionality of blogs but are frustrated by the limited customization options, you might want to consider building your own CMS (especially if you have a willing IT department behind you!) Greg built his to incorporate a Reference blog, which is one of the truly great things about designing your own system - the possibilities are bounded only by your imagination (and, realistically, time & budget).
courses on blogging
If you or your library is looking to add a blog to your site but first need to bone up on the technology and everything it has to offer, there are a couple of upcoming online courses you should know about. Steven is facilitating one on blogs & RSS over at LearningTimes, and Megan Fox is holding one on new technologies for librarians (including PDAs, WiFi, blogs & RSS) via the continuing ed school at Simmons [via stuff]. They both sound like great courses and reading over the details for each has got me thinking about proposing something similar for the Ontario Library Association's Education Institute.

redesign
I've done some housekeeping around here, finally. It's usually when I get things in shape that I'm encouraged to post more frequently, so look out. I'd appreciate a quick note or comment if the css isn't working well for you.

where i get my stuff
Like many bloggers, I find a lot of the stuff I post here on other blogs. Two of my favourite sources: LIS Blogsource, which is the result of the tireless efforts of Greg & Steven; and this dmoz category (that someone other than me really should volunteer to edit). A few links are culled from a handful of other sources, but these two definitely provide the highest yield.

Innovative on Innovative
Addison Public Library is moving to a new automation system and they've started a blog to chronicle that move. Which makes me think that this is another good reason why we need better blog indexing because this could be an invaluable resource for other libraries considering a similar move.
